Ticket Prices For Umrah Reach KD 700
The number of travelers to the Holy Land to perform Umrah doubled in the first 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan; while ticket prices increased to as high as KD300 and employees in travel agencies revealed ticket prices would rise up to KD700 in the last 10 days of Ramadan, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting a reliable source from Kuwait International Airport. The source told the daily that the number of flights to Jeddah, Taif and Madina reached 25 per day; revealing that the demand for Umrah destinations increased by 30 percent compared to previous years. The daily obtained information that ticket prices in the first 10 days of the holy month ranged from KD150 to KD250 on normal days, and reached KD300 at the end of the week.
Several employees in the tourism and travel sector said prices would double in the last 10 days of Ramadan, hinting that prices would range from KD350 to KD700. They affirmed that the travel agencies have prepared attractive packages including tickets, accommodation and transportation; specifying options for pilgrims in terms of suitable accommodation as well as the provision of breakfast and suhour meals. Regarding land trips, the prices range from KD100 to KD150 including visas, hotels and transportation.
