Kuwait Boosts Security Measures Around Oil Sites , Airport
The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is reinforcing security measures around oil installations in coordination with the Interior Ministry, KNPC official spokesman Khaled Al- Asousi said Sunday. He told KUNA that these security precautions, which are supported by the military, are part of oil companies’ industrial security.
Intensive security plans to protect oil installations and sites will be activated after coordinating with the Ministry of Interior and its subsidiary bodies, Al- Asousi added.
He affirmed that the company is exerting tremendous effort to protect all vital oil establishments and facilities, declining to disclose any further details on these security measures.
The Interior Ministry has 50 trained security personnel from the Special Task Force posted at the Kuwait International Airport to ensure security of this vital facility following the recent bombing at the Ataturk Airport in Turkey, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, these personnel can move in and out of any area except the restricted zones.
The security sources said the task of this force which carries weapons with live ammunition is to control and reduce the number of visitors at the airport. Meanwhile, reliable sources said the G4S a British multinational security services company headquartered in Central London will begin work in August 2016. The company is presently working on the plan which the company will implement once it begins work.
