Ministry Of Information Partners With Private Media For Election Coverage

Dr. Nasser Muhaisen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, affirmed the ministry's commitment to partnering with private media outlets for the upcoming National Assembly elections. Speaking to KUNA after the conclusion of the second workshop on distinguished coverage and news production for the 2024 elections, organized by the Ministry at the National Library, Dr. Muhaisen emphasized the importance of professional media coverage contributing to the success of parliamentary elections.

Assistant Undersecretary for Press, Publishing, and Publications, Lafi AlSubaie, highlighted the Ministry's interest in preparing the workshop to support media from a technical standpoint and to emphasize the significance of the electoral process's success. AlSubaie emphasized the need for distinguished media coverage that avoids any offense to candidates or voters.

AlSubaie noted the crucial role of Kuwaiti private media in the country's media landscape and expressed hope for their contribution to the success of the democratic process. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that coverage of the 2024 elections reflects the esteemed reputation of Kuwait and its democratic experience.

The workshop, attended by senior program presenters, directors, media professionals, and KUNA editors, commenced with a focus on enhancing coverage quality and professionalism in the private media sector.
