Ministry Of Information Ensures Smooth Media Coverage For 2024 National Assembly Elections
Lafi Al-Subaie, Assistant Undersecretary for Press, Publishing, and Publications at the Ministry of Information, has affirmed the ministry's commitment to facilitating media coverage for the upcoming 2024 National Assembly elections, starting with the candidate registration process.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday, Al-Subaie mentioned that the ministry has streamlined the registration process for media professionals interested in covering the elections via the ministry's website. Media professionals are provided with necessary licenses based on predefined conditions and guidelines.
Al-Subaie noted that while the majority of license recipients have adhered to the instructions and guidelines, demonstrating professionalism and responsibility, a few violated the licensing conditions during the candidate registration period. Consequently, their licenses were revoked, and they were prohibited from covering the elections at candidates' headquarters or polling stations.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism in election coverage by all media outlets, ensuring that Kuwait's democratic process is portrayed accurately and reflects the true essence of Kuwaiti media heritage.
