Filipino Workers To Be Recruited Under New Article 18 Terms And Conditions
It has been confirmed by the labor attaché at the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait that the recently announced procedures regarding the desire of companies and individuals to bring Filipino workers in accordance with Article 18 to work in the private sector were based on directives issued by Manila authorities in order to reduce the documentary cycle.
Kuwait's labor attaché told Al-Qabas daily that all procedures for hiring new, specialized workers for the private sector would be in accordance with Kuwait's labor laws.
As he explained, the steps announced for the terms of the contracts for recruiting private sector workers have nothing to do with ongoing consultations regarding the Philippines government's decision to resume sending domestic workers to Kuwait.
As in the rest of the GCC, the new contracts and requirements have improved conditions and brought relief to employers in employment offices and companies seeking to hire Filipino workers.
Kuwait's implementation of the new procedures has been suspended until all relevant parties have been consulted, reaffirming that sending domestic workers to Kuwait is not part of the new controls.
