Card Issued To Individuals With Revoked Nationalities

Al-Rai newspaper’s informed sources disclosed that individuals whose nationalities have been withdrawn or revoked will receive personal cards from the Central Agency. These cards will address the legal status corresponding to their situation as illegal residents.

The sources reported that this procedure applies to the individuals in question and their dependents, including children and grandchildren. This indicates that their legal status in various authorities, especially in academic records, must be amended in accordance with developments in this regard.

The sources also indicated that the relevant authorities have begun taking the necessary measures to amend the status of individuals whose nationalities have been withdrawn. This process is being carried out through the relevant sectors representing financial, administrative, and legal affairs, based on the Ministry of Interior’s request.

Sources stated that the central agency requested the Ministry of Education to notify the concerned parties to review their situation and issue them cards. This step would allow the ministry to verify the data contained within these cards for the purpose of registering them in schools.

The sources also highlighted that the “Fatwa and Legislation” had previously mandated that “students, children of those whose Kuwaiti nationality was withdrawn, must continue to be enrolled in public and private education schools.” They are obligated to submit the necessary documents to amend their records in the Ministry of Education’s automated student record system and to be treated legally, financially, and administratively as non-Kuwaitis.

The sources confirmed that, according to the “Fatwa and Legislation,” the decree withdrawing nationality does not have any retroactive effects and does not affect the academic positions that the student acquired while holding Kuwaiti nationality.

However, it is necessary to amend the new data to reflect the student’s current nationality status and submit official documents from the Central Agency for Resolving the Status of Illegal Residents or other documents proving their legal status. It was stressed that under no circumstances should the children of those who have lost Kuwaiti citizenship be deprived of completing their education or continuing their enrollment in schools.
