Issuing Work Permits Based On Academic Certificates And Experience Certificates

07 May 2024 Kuwait

The Public Authority for Manpower, in efforts to regulate the labor market and the mechanisms for recruiting workers from abroad, is discussing a number of proposals for recruiting workers, especially related to some technical professions.

One of the proposals is not to issue any new work permit without prior approval of academic certificates, ratification, and equivalency from official authorities and Kuwaiti embassies outside.

The proposal also discussed adding an accredited professional experience certificate approved by the relevant authorities for each profession. This could be for a minimum of 3 years for some professions and up to 5 years for others.

The implementation of the proposed recruitment process will take place in stages, the first stage of which targets some medical, educational, engineering, legal and financial professions.
