Kuwait's Population Reaches Five-million Milestone

Kuwait's population is inching closer to the five-million mark, with current figures standing at 4.91 million, reflecting an increase of around 120 thousand compared to the previous year.

Data released by the Central Administration of Statistics revealed that as of January 1, 2024, the population reached 4,913,271, compared to 4,793,568 in January 2023.

Among the populace, citizens numbered 1,545,781, up by 28,705 from the previous year's count of 1,517,760. Meanwhile, the non-Kuwaiti population reached 3,367,490, indicating an increase of 90,998 from the previous year's figure of 3,276,492.

The demographic breakdown showed that males outnumbered females among non-Kuwaitis, with 2,262,500 males compared to 1,104,990 females. Among citizens, females slightly outnumbered males, with 787,065 females compared to 758,716 males.

Youth form the majority of citizens, with approximately 650,000 individuals distributed across age groups. Specifically, the breakdown is as follows: 135,811 (Aged 20-24), 131,084 (Aged 25-29), 115,946 (Aged 30-34), 105,058 (Aged 35-39), 88,195 (Aged 40-44), and 75,591 (Aged 45-49).

The remaining population is distributed across age groups ranging from less than one year to 19 years old, accounting for around 650,000 individuals, while approximately 245,000 individuals belong to age groups ranging from 50 years old to over 80.
