Philippines Delegation To Visit Kuwait For Talks On Recruitment Ban

Al-Qabas daily reports that a delegation from the Philippines will visit Kuwait from Dec 14-16 to discuss resuming the recruitment of Filipino workers for Kuwait.

According to the source, Filipino officials will participate in the delegation and discuss lifting the ban on Filipino labor recruitment with Kuwaiti counterparts.

Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Jose Cabrera is expected to meet with Assistant Secretary of State for Asian Affairs Ambassador Samih Gohar Hayat soon to discuss the labor issue.

On Oct 21, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr announced that the ban on Filipino workers going to Kuwait would soon be lifted.

On the sidelines of the ASEAN and Gulf Cooperation Council Summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Philippine media quoted the Philippine president as saying, "on the sidelines of the summit, they discussed relations between Kuwait and the Philippines."
