Two Years Permit For Staff At Moe

The Ministry of Education has started granting residence permits valid for two years to its academic staff if they wish to do so, reports Al-Rai daily. This step coincides with the Ministry of Health’s adoption of a law on granting health insurance for expatriates that is also valid for two years as per the instruction of the Interior Ministry. A source from the educational sector told the daily that the abovementioned measure will ease procedures for the annual assessment of the teachers — whose number is estimated at more than 30,000. The source added this has prompted the Administrative Sector to receive 150 teachers per day — morning and evening shifts — during the period prior to the renewal of their residency permits.
