Accident Reveals Drunk Driver And Liquor Bottles
An accident involving an overturned vehicle in Jahra revealed that the driver was apparently intoxicated. Three bottles containing alcohol were also discovered at the scene, reports Al-Anba daily . It was reported that the driver, who was residing in the country illegally, was arrested for driving while impaired, causing an accident, and damaging public property.
Authorities received a report around 9:40 pm of a car accident on Al-Jahra Road toward Al-Mutlaa, near the Palace area. When police arrived, they found an overturned Japanese car driven by a man born in 1986 who was lying on the ground. The car had collided with a fence, and the driver was refusing medical treatment. He appeared disoriented, slurred his words, and smelled strongly of alcohol.
Additionally, there were signs of a fire in the vehicle. Elsewhere in Jahra, police detained a young man and referred him to the General Administration for Drug Control after discovering substances believed to be intoxicants in his possession. The arrest came after police became suspicious of a vehicle parked in a dirt yard. Inside the car, they found a 1.5-liter bottle, a 0.5-liter bottle, and a bottle of cologne, all containing intoxicating substances.
