During the holiday, 2,280 flights will be operated, or an average of 228 flights per day.

Public sector employees in Kuwait begin a holiday on February 27 in celebration of Independence Day, Liberation Day and the night journey of Prophet Mohammed.

On Sunday, Kuwait eased travel restrictions. In addition, fully vaccinated travellers without PCR testing can be scrapped pre-departure and on-arrival.

Unvaccinated travellers are also allowed to enter if they present a negative PCR test result conducted 72 hours before flight, are placed in a seven-day quarantine following arrival and another PCR test conducted on day seven to end the quarantine, Al Anba said.

Individuals who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine less than nine months ago and those who have received a booster dose for COVID-19 are exempt from prearrival and onarrival PCR tests, as well as home quarantine.

Kuwaiti and expatriate travelers are included in the measures and exemptions from the PCR testing, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
