Four Expats Arrested For Stealing Copper Cables Worth 60,000 Dinars Wearing A Fake Uniform

The security officials of Surra Police Station arrested a gang that specialized in stealing copper cables from the Ministry of Electricity.

The gang of four expatriates was found in possession of stolen items and tools used in theft and cutting. During security inspection they were found under article 20 residency. Upon interrogation, they admitted that they wear a fake uniform and impersonate MEW workers to steal copper cable from MEW facilities.

The stolen items were then sold to a fifth expatriate for 1,000 dinars, who would melt the copper and sell it. Upon searching for the fifth expatriate, copper worth about 60,000 dinars was recovered.
