05 December 2023 Kuwait

The Public Authority for Manpower has recently issued an administrative decision that brings about amendments to certain provisions governing the transfer of employees from the government to the private sector.

As reported by Al-Jarida, the updated regulations include exemptions from the transfer restrictions for specific groups. Expatriate husbands and children of Kuwaiti women, as well as expat wives of Kuwaitis, and individuals holding Palestinian documents are among those excluded from the ban on transitioning from government positions to roles in the private sector.

Additionally, expatriates possessing a university qualification and being under the age of 60 are also exempted, provided that their profession, qualifications, and the nature of their current government job align with the requirements of the new position in the private sector.
