Paci Intensifies Issuance Of Civil Ids
The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) says it has intensified the issuance of civil IDs registered in its systems and has taken measures to deal with the IDs that have accumulated in the machines – accumulated due to the fact that many residents are stranded abroad because of the condition imposed by the Covid- 19 pandemic, reports Al-Qabas daily. PACI sources told the daily the civil ID card delivery services have returned to ‘normal’ once again with an increase in the number of daily card deliveries. The number of delivery vehicles has also been increased and with it the operational capacity as it was in the past, after workforce was reduced to 50% in light of the decrease in the issuance of new cards during the last period.
PACI intensifies issuance of civil IDs to provide automated banking services for 3 new years, which has the approval of the Central Tenders Committee (CTC) with the aim of putting an end to obstacles that may face civil ID cards upon issuance. The sources stated PACI has recently activated an automated response system to inquiries of the ‘My Identity’ application, whose subscribers have exceeded 2.1 million citizens and residents, who have downloaded it through the “Android and IOS” systems, in addition to the problem-solving and maintenance service of the application around-the-clock. Regarding the IDs of children below 5 years old, for citizens and residents, who are not issued an electronic card through ‘My ID’ and which are still being issued by the authority’s devices the sources confirmed the availability of a special service for them through the authority’s production department. The sources stated that if a citizen or resident needs to expedite the issuance of the card for his child, he can visit the authority without a prior appointment and hand over the civil number of the card, and it will be issued quickly in order to serve him before traveling.
