Login To Whatsapp Using Your Email Soon
In addition to the primary login method, which sends a 6-digit code to a user's registered mobile number, this will be an alternative.
WhatsApp is introducing a feature that will allow users to add an email address to their accounts. WABetaInfo, which tracks WhatsApp news and updates and was the first to report the story, reports that Meta is introducing the option as a way for users to access their accounts.
Currently, only select beta testers are able to use the feature (Representational Image).
What is the location of the email feature?
WABetaInfo reports that this will be available in a new section in account settings called 'Email Address'. Once the address is added and verified, people will have the ability to log into the instant messaging service from their email address.
However, WhatsApp is not getting rid of its primary login method, which involves receiving a 6-digit code through your registered mobile number. When an individual does not have access to their phone number or is having difficulty receiving text messages, they can use the email feature.
Furthermore, the latter facility will be optional; that is, users can choose whether or not to enable it.
Currently, it is only available to beta testers, including those who have installed WhatsApp beta from the TestFlight app. Over the next few days, more users will be able to take advantage of this feature.
