WhatsApp Unveils Enhanced Privacy: Users Can Now Conceal And Secure Chats With Hidden Folder Feature

04 December 2023 Technology

WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that enables users to not only lock their chats but also conceal the folder containing these private conversations. The announcement came through a tweet on November 30, revealing an upcoming feature that permits users to hide their locked chats folder. Currently, this feature is accessible to some beta users.

The hidden folder can be unveiled by entering a 'secret code' into the search bar. WA Beta Info provided a sneak peek into the appearance of this innovative feature. Once the secret code is added, locked chats will no longer appear in the chats list; instead, users can access them by entering the secret code into the search bar.

As reported by WA Beta Info, some users may also receive an additional feature enabling them to clear the list of locked chats within their privacy settings. This functionality is designed to assist users who may forget their secret code, ensuring they can still access their locked chats.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced a feature allowing users to secure their chats with individuals or groups using a code or fingerprint protection. Notably, media shared in these chats will not be automatically saved to the device.
