Labor Market Has Presented Results Of A Study On Study On Work Permit Fees For Expat Workers Ends
The team tasked to regulate the labor market has presented results of a study on work permit-related fees to Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh, in addition to the schedule for implementing new fees for expatriate workers, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting a reliable source The source said the team also revised conclusions on the proposal to specify minimum wage.
The source added the team has edited a questionnaire about labor market requirements for private companies, indicating that results of the poll will be released by the Central Statistics Bureau. He went on to say the questionnaire aims to identify problems that employers face when they hire Kuwaitis
The source disclosed the government intends to lay down a national privatization strategy based on the new economic reform document,.
According to the source, the concerned governmental team has completed a number of feasibility studies, adding that five official bodies have been approved for privatization including Kuwait International Airport, telephones, postal service, Ministry of Water and Electricity (power generating plants), Kuwait Ports Authority and the governmental publishing office. He added the team has conducted initial evaluation of these institutions.
The source said the team met senior officials at the Ministry of Water and Electricity, as well as the Ministry of Information undersecretary and assistant undersecretary for Postal Service Affairs.
