Japanese Technology Helps Kuwait To Reduce Road Temperature Up To 10 Degree
The Japanese technology of using a heat-insulating material on the walkway in Mishref was able to reduce the temperature by seven to ten degrees Celsius.
During the presence of officials from Environment Public Authority, Mishref Cooperative Society and Japanese Embassy in Kuwait, the temperature of the walkway was measured as 38, while the temperature in the traditional roads reached 45 degrees Celsius.
The Ambassador of Japan to the country, Masato Tako, during the occasion, said that the cooperation in reducing road temperature contributes to deepening cooperation between the two countries in the environmental field. He said that this technology is used in Japan in various locations such as parks, sidewalks and places of exercise for the convenience of visitors.
Environment Public Authority started using this technology in Mishref area last year during the month of April on an experimental basis. A successful use of thsi technology will allow the use of these places comfortably during the summer period. The result of this experiment will be submitted to the concerned authorities for further steps. At present, discussions are on to implement this idea on the entire 5-kilometre-long Walk in Mishref area. Â
