Family Affairs Declared Housing Loans For Kuwaiti Women Wedded To Expats

27 January 2017 Kuwait

The Committee for Women and Family Affairs declared good news to women who are married to Kuwaitis and divorcees and widows over a solution to their housing problem, pending government’s response to the two proposals submitted to repeal the hike in electricity tariffs and fuel prices amid claims by the parliamentarians that the bill is constitutional and the majority will pass it.

Chairman of the committee Saleh Ashour announced reaching an agreement that cleared all obstacles against the ability of women who are married to Kuwaitis in obtaining KD 70,000 loan  with reference to joint ownership of title deeds. He added Kuwaiti women who are married to non-Kuwaitis will also be entitled to low cost housing allocation. He made the revelation Wednesday after a meeting held in the presence of officials of the Credit Bank and Public Authority for Housing. He noted the committee was able to reach an agreement with the housing authority due to positive disposition of the supervising minister Yasir Abul.
