Daesh Groups Focused On Kuwait And Gcc Nations

Some Kuwaiti political activists have reacted to a recent security alert issued by the British Foreign Affairs Ministry to her citizens in Kuwait saying security readiness and alert is necessary regardless of the warnings from Britain.

Assistant Undersecretary for Ownership Transfer at the Ministry of Finance Fahad Al-Sha’alah declared the country needs to prepare and stay alert security wise with or without warnings from Britain. He also said the Kuwaiti security apparatus have not been found wanting in that regard, so there is no cause for alarm. He urged for total coordination among the GCC countries in protecting the region against the dangers of terrorism, especially as the region is always in the state of panic and concern. He concluded “terrorist groups such as DAESH remain steadily focused on Kuwait and other GCC countries, so care must be taken.”

In his comment, professor of political science at Kuwait University and columnist Dr Shamlan Al-Essa disclosed the warning released via social media is a routine procedure but there is serious need for clarification from concerned British authorities to avoid creating tension in Kuwait. He also said the Kuwaiti security apparatus should always be conscious of security covering in the entire territory regardless of the warning. According to Regional Secretary General of the Center for Ideological Creativity Advisor Khalid Al-Shamroukh, the warning should be taken with all seriousness deserved. He stressed a big country like Britain has effective intelligence that cannot be waved aside, urging security operatives to be mindful of the warning by taking all necessary steps to forestall unforeseen situation. “They must play anticipated role to protect Kuwait against terrorism act by ridding Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh of marginal workers who roam the streets in order to protect genuine workers”, the renowned adviser said. He reiterated the reputation of the area is bad as a notorious location but we should not treat respectable expatriate workers equally with the bad eggs.
