Csc Says To Create Jobs For ‘kuwaiti Engineers’

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has vowed to create job opportunities for Kuwaiti engineering graduates registered in the Central Employment System as soon as possible, reports Al-Jarida daily. Director of the Job Arrangement Department at CSC Aisha Al-Mutawa affirmed that the commission will provide job opportunities for 2,670 engineers with various specializations as per the regulations. She disclosed those who registered in the system include 924 mechanical engineers, 740 industrial and systems engineers, 417 electrical engineers, 258 chemical engineers, 224 petroleum engineering researchers and 107 civil engineers.

She explained the CSC’s statement on the manpower needs of the labor market in terms of specializations is related to the manpower needs in the next five years as per the studies on the educational outputs and labor market needs. She said the CSC has asked the educational institutions, such as Kuwait University, Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), and the private universities, to consult the commission before introducing any specialization in order to study the financial degree and job title in preparation for employment in the government sector.

Meanwhile, acting Director of Kuwait University Dr Fayez Al-Dhafiri said the university takes into consideration the fact that the CSC determines the actual manpower needs of the labor market. He added the university focuses on increasing the admission rate for specializations that the labor market needs as per the recommendation of the CSC.
