Falsified Certificates Continue To Be Monitored By Kes
Faisal Al-Atl, Chairman of the Kuwait Engineers Society (KES) Board of Directors, said the company continues to monitor cases of forgery of engineering certificates, stating that all cases have been referred to investigation committees and legal authorities for action, reports Al-Jarida. To overcome obstacles to those who are eligible to practice engineering professions, the KES should utilize its full capacity.
A new project is being announced by Al-Atl aimed at developing the abilities of engineers, both citizens and residents. As a result of the project, Kuwaiti engineers will receive a financial advantage only if they are able to develop themselves and pass the necessary examinations, which will be held every two years. According to him, this is similar to the professional advisory certificates issued by the United States and Britain, and he hoped it would be implemented in Kuwait with the support of the Civil Service Commission.
As for Kuwaiti employment in the oil sector, Al-Atl said, "There is a huge shortage of workers in the oil sector (500 engineers and 1,000 technicians) that can be addressed by national manpower, which the Kuwait Engineers Society intends to restore.". Instead of wasting public money on holding new tests and forming committees, he said that Kuwaitis could be employed in the oil sector by benefiting from those who passed the tests saying they would be hired directly.
