25 July 2022 Crime News

Al-Seyassah reports that the Court of Appeals upheld a ruling by the Commercial Court requiring a contracting company to pay KD39,000 to an expatriate couple whose son died after falling from a building.

According to the court, the above-mentioned amount represents blood money and compensation for the material and moral damages that the couple suffered due to the death of their son. According to Attorney Inaam Haider, the couple suffered material and moral damages due to the disruption of their livelihood as their deceased son was the breadwinner. Due to the loss of a loved one - their source of strength and livelihood - the couple also had to endure pain, heartbreak, anguish, and grief.
