A Kuwaiti Woman Jailed For Stealing Her Husband Bag
The Misdemeanor Court of Appeals nullified the verdict of First Instance Court that sentenced a Kuwaiti woman to six months in prison with hard labor on the allegation of stealing her husband’s bag. The court chaired by Judge Yusuf Al-Buhairi suspended execution of the penalty. The case file indicates the husband filed a lawsuit against his wife accusing her of stealing his bag containing a sum of money, official documents and other valuables. He said the woman took the bag from his car trunk. Defense Attorney Hassan Al- Ajmi questioned seriousness of the prosecution officer, asserting the account was illogical, malicious and devised by the plaintiff. He noted the plaintiff was inconsistent in his submissions.
