Students Benefit From Kuwait Airways' Direct Flights To Manchester
Kuwaiti students on scholarships in the United Kingdom, particularly in Manchester, have been worried in recent years owing to a shortage of direct flights since this location serves hundreds of students on scholarships in Manchester.
On Wednesday, KUNA conducted independent interviews with scholarship students, who agreed that the direct trip on Kuwait Airways will benefit scholarship students travelling to the United Kingdom, specifically Manchester and its surrounding towns. Meanwhile, Abbas Al-Ramzi, a scholarship student in Manchester, pointed out that the flight's departure from Kuwait and arrival in Manchester are convenient for students and visitors, since it arrives around 11:45 a.m., allowing travellers to spend the day there.
He thanked Kuwait Airways for establishing this route and urged them to increase the number of flights per week to make it easier for students on scholarships to travel to Manchester on direct flights.
In reply, Faisal Al-Ajlan, a Manchester scholarship student, noted that scholarship students are having problems flying on other airlines owing to the COVID-19 pandemic's reduction of flights to Manchester and increase in flight hours.
One of the reasons why students prefer Kuwait Airways to other airlines is their desire to stick to flight schedules, the quality of food served, and the comfortable economy class seats, in addition to Kuwait Airways' support as a national carrier, he stated.
Another student on a scholarship to Manchester, Abdullah Al-Qahs, stated that some students choose to fly to Manchester via Kuwait Airways because of its direct route, while others prefer to travel via other carriers that provide student discounts on flight rates.
He hopes that Kuwait Airways reconsiders the cost of plane tickets for the Manchester route and that special reductions for scholarship recipients are included.
Kuwait Airways started on March 23 and its regular commercial flights to Manchester will begin on May 1, with three weekly flights on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. KUNA –
