Speaker Expressed Proudness In Watching The Flag Of Kuwait Flying High Thanks To Achievements Made Heroes

Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim expressed on Sunday his proudness in watching the flag of Kuwait flying high thanks to achievements made heroes Mansour Al- Rashidi and Ali Al-Shatti at the 18th Asian Games in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. “We were thrilled to see the flag of Kuwait flying high in a scene that we were deprived of for a long time after Al-Rashidi won the gold medal in the shooting competitions (Skeet) and Al-Shatti also in the Karate competitions,” Al-Ghanim told reporters at the National Assembly.

He expressed his hope that “more achievements will be achieved for the Kuwaiti youth heroes in the Asian Games, despite the limited potential and lack of preparations because the ban was just lifted not long ago.”

He also congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people in general and athletes in particular for the Olympic participation suspension temporarily lifted hoping it to become permanent as it did for football.

Al-Ghanim expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince for all their support towards their children who are fulfilling their duties in this case and to the government side, represented by His Highness Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister who formed a ministerial committee consisting of three ministers to follow up.

He also thanked the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah for his keenness and support to the organisers of this file led by Director General of the General Authority for Sport, Dr Hamoud Fleith.

He also thanked the Information Minister, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammed Al-Jabri, former youth ministers Khaled Al-Roudhan, who is currently Minister of Trade and Industry and Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, who currently serves as the Civil Aviation Chief.

He thanked the parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee and all the deputies who attended the session of December 3rd and resulted in the adoption of Law No. 87 of 2017 on the sport. His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah praised on Sunday the achievements made by two Kuwaiti athletes, Mansour Al-Rashedi in the shooting competitions of Skeet and karate player Ali Al-Shatti for winning gold medals at the 18th Asian Games in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.

His Highness expressed his sincere congratulations to the heroes of Kuwait and his pride in these results achieved during the Asian Games and to raise the banner of Kuwait high in the skies at the Indonesian capital and through international sports forums. His Highness stressed that the Kuwaiti youth is a source of pride for the country and its wealth, wishing everyone prosperity and success.
