Recruitment Of Filipino Workers Is Sought By Kuwait

According to a Kuwaiti newspaper, Kuwait's labour authorities are interested in hiring more Filipino workers.

According to Al Qabas, the meeting took place between Mubarak Al Azmi, the Director-General of Kuwait's Public Authority of Manpower (PAM), and Jose Cabrera, the Philippines' Charge d'Affaires in Kuwait.

Both sides are keen on promoting cooperation regarding Philippine labour, according to the Kuwaiti official.

225,625 Filipinos work in Kuwait, including 162,041 domestic helpers, according to Al Qabas, citing recent official figures.

Kuwait provides legal protection to all expatriates, regardless of their nationality, according to Al Azmi. In the private and domestic sectors, a favourable work environment protects workers' rights.
