Open Wounds From Overseas Treatments Require Sutures
According to Al-Qabas daily, the Council of Ministers instructed the Ministry of Health not to receive any transactions or requests related to treatment abroad or other health sectors from legislators or their delegates. As per the sources, the ministry immediately translated these government directives, which were circulated to the Overseas Treatment Department and other departments to eliminate intermediaries permanently. Anyone who violates these instructions will be prosecuted.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mustafa Reda, has issued a circular in this regard that specialized committees for treatment abroad will be held in public hospitals and medical centers. For emergency and urgent cases, starting on Wednesday for one month, the treating medical team decides whether the treatment is available in one of the Ministry of Health's facilities.
The circular is addressed to assistant undersecretaries in the ministry, health district directors, the Overseas Treatment Department director, and hospital directors. To request an urgent specialized committee for that case, the head of the treating department must submit a detailed report to the medical authority's head, which then should be submitted to the Overseas Treatment Department's Higher Committee. Reports in Al-Jarida daily claim Minister Khaled Al-Saeed met with a former lawmaker last Wednesday and signed overseas treatment applications for him.
Al-Saeed met with the Council of Assistant Undersecretaries to inform them about the directives issued by the Council of Ministers, the ministry clarified, stressing that he is keen on following the directives of the Council of Ministers.
