Officers Arrested 27 Expats For Violating The Residency Law

Officers from the Residency Affairs General Department at the Interior Ministry arrested 27 individuals of various nationalities for violating the Residency Law. In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media Department said the arrest happened after its investigation counterpart received information that a house in Riqqa is being used as shelter for domestic workers (Article 20 visa) who escaped from their sponsors. During interrogation, the arrested individuals admitted they are working for other sponsors while some of them were found to be involved in other cases. They were referred to the Public Prosecution. Meanwhile, the Residency Affairs General Department received information from Farwaniya Residency Affairs Department about the discovery of falsified dependent visas. A thorough investigation ensued, leading to the arrest of the suspects who were referred to the Public Prosecution which charged them with falsification of official documents.
