No Money Spent On Research, Development In Health And Education Areas Over 7 Months

Figures released by the Ministry of Finance show Kuwait did not spend any money on research and development in the fields of education and health during the first 7 months of the current fiscal 2021/2022.

The data on expenditure analysis shows the ‘budget’ includes  KD 388,100 on research and development in the field of health, but none of it was spent over the past seven months, while KD 20,000 for research and development was available in field of education, and despite that, none of it was spent over the same period.

On the other hand, the figures indicate the total government spending on health and education items was KD 2 billion including expenditures on health products, devices, medical equipment, outpatient services, hospital services, and public health services worth KD 928.2 million during the period, compared to KD 2.75 billion.

Kuwait’s total spending on education in its various categories and stages, from primary and earlier, secondary and higher education since the beginning of the current fiscal was about KD 1.13 billion out of the estimated financial appropriations for the entire fiscal of about KD 2.77 billion.
