No Exemption For Fingerprint Attendance System

20 July 2017 Kuwait

Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs in the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Bader Al-Hamad recently issued a circular to employees exempted from the fingerprint attendance system including those occupying supervisory posts and those who have been in service for more than 25 years, instructing them to visit the Administrative Affairs Department to update and activate their data for the system.

This circular is in line with the decision of the CSC to stop the exemption such that all employees, regardless of position and nature of job, are now required to register their attendance through the fingerprint system.

On the other hand, a source disclosed that CSC Chairperson Ahmad Al-Jassar has given authority to sign strategic foreign correspondence only to the undersecretary and assistant undersecretaries of the commission; while the directors of departments will sign routine letters and correspondence according to decree number 116/1992 on administrative organization.
