Mou Signed Between India And Gulf Cooperation Council (gcc) For Facilitation Of Consultations

In a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Saturday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf agreed on a mechanism of consultation between India and the GCC.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Government of India.

Jaishankar also held a bilateral meeting with the Secretary-General to discuss the relevance of India-GCC cooperation in light of the current regional and global situation.

An extremely productive meeting with @GCC Secretary General Dr Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf. We signed a Memorandum of Understanding about the mechanism for consulting between India and the GCC. "The current regional and global situation and the relevance of India-GCC cooperation were discussed," Jaishankar tweeted.

India's External Affairs Minister is visiting Saudi Arabia from 10-12 September 2022, his first visit to the Kingdom since becoming Minister.

Recently, India-Saudi Arabia relations have improved considerably in various areas, including politics, security, energy, trade, investment, health, food security, cultural exchanges, and defence.

Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, the top leaderships of both countries maintained close contact.
