Embassy Announces Details Of Emergency Certificate To Utilize Amnesty Scheme
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait today issued an advisory detailing the procedure to get Emergency Certificates for those who lost their passports to go back to India under the recently announced amnesty scheme of Kuwait.
According to the advisory issued by the Embassy, tokens are being issued to apply for Emergency Certificates (EC) at the Indian Consular Application Centers run by BLS.
Those who have already filled EC forms and obtained Tokens from the Embassy are advised to visit BLS Centres on the date mentioned in the Token, for submission of EC application with EC fee. Since all Tokens for 21 March-8 April are already booked, BLS Centers will only accept these Token holders during this period.
After submission, the applicant is required to visit the Embassy on the next working day at the specified time given by BLS, for interview and collection of ECs.
It may be noted that henceforth, tokens will be issued ONLY at the 3 BLS Centers and NOT at the Embassy.
New applicants who do not have a token from the Embassy/ BLS, are advised to visit the BLS centres only from 2pm-4pm on all working days (except Friday) to get a token for the submission of the EC forms for the next available dates. Those who do not take advance tokens will be accommodated only if there is any slot available after 8 April, 2024.
It has been observed that EC forms filled by self/ outside typing centres are not being correctly filled. Applicant must ensure that all details are filled correctly otherwise the application will not be accepted.
If your Passport is expired and you wish to apply for reissue Passports to stay in Kuwait by paying penalty fee under the Amnesty Scheme, you may please visit one of the BLS Centers with the prescribed undertaking signed by your new Sponsor and the new Sponsor’s Civil ID, other required documents and fee.
