Kuwaitis make up close to 80% of the government's total employees, yet labor market statistics indicate Arabs (excluding some countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council) rank second, with the highest percentage among all other nationalities.

The Central Administration of Statistics reports that, according to labor market statistics, Arab employees, excluding the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, reached 45,809, or 10.4% of the total private sector employees, followed by Asian employees who accounted for 34,181, or 7.8%, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to the data, there were 4,837 male and female GCC employees in the government sector, accounting for just 1.1% of the total workforce. The rest were from Kuwait and other countries. A total of 249 males and females were employed in non-Arab African countries, 502 in European countries, 425 in North American countries, 38 in South America, and 39 in Australia and New Zealand.

2 910 government employees were classified in the statistics as "not shown".
