Moe To Sign Contracts With 4 Companies To Provide 1,696 Buses For Schools
The Ministry of Education will sign contracts with four companies to provide buses and transport vehicles to serve schools, educational areas, and the Ministry’s General Office.
Al-Jarida has learned four tenders worth 25 million dinars were awarded by the Ministry of Education to the winning companies.
In this context, educational sources said the tenders were floated by the Central Agency for Public Tenders and the winning companies have been identified and are awaiting final approval from the Ministry of Education before signing the contracts.
The sources indicated 380 buses have been allocated to the Ahmadi educational district, 176 to Mubarak Al-Kabeer, 270 to Jahra Educational, 100 buses to the Capital, 110 to Hawally, 155 to Farwaniya educational area, in addition to 125 for religious education, 200 for special education schools, 40 for the General Secretariat for Special Education, 100 for the schools for the disabled, and 40 buses for talent and creativity schools.
The sources stated the authorities are working to sign the contracts with the winning companies, and complete the necessary legal procedures. Sources said the ministry had taken a decision at the beginning of the “Corona” crisis to cancel transport and bus tenders due to the pandemic.
