Environment Law Has An Article That States Deportation Of Expats Who Commit Environmental Violations

Director General and Board Chairman of Environment Public Authority (EPA) Sheikh Abdullah Al- Ahmed Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, in a speech he delivered at the inauguration of the forum titled “Waste management for preserving health and unsustainable development”, revealed that the environment law has an article that states deportation of expatriates who commit environmental violations as penalty, reports Al-Nahar daily.

He indicated that some expatriates have been deported for committing dangerous environmental violations, adding that deportation is the right of Ministry of Interior, which decides on the suitable kind of penalty.

Sheikh Abdullah clarified that the role of EPA is limited to issuance of citations and referring them to Ministry of Interior for deciding on the relevant penalty. He affirmed that EPA welcomes any parliamentary questions regarding environmental issues and aimed at the interest of the country.

Sheikh Abdullah urged MPs to visit EPA, which has 674 employees who work on preserving the environment of Kuwait.
