Embassy Help Repatriate Stranded Indians
Ramachandran Vairavamoorthy, an Indian national who was admitted to Farwaniya Hospital- Kuwait, was recently repatriated to his hometown in India by the Indian Embassy-Kuwait. The Indian national Ramachandran Vairavamoorthy has recently moved to Kuwait to work as a domestic worker. A fall unconsciously caused him to be admitted to Farwaniya Hospital on 4th May 2022. Medications were being administered to him because of a left cerebral hematoma. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait has been contacted for further follow-up and support as Ali, President of Tamil Makkal Sevai Maiyam Kuwait, does not have any relatives or friends there.
Indian Embassy officials Rahul and Shajan, First Secretary, Community Welfare and Labour Wing, arranged for all the necessary medical attention to be provided to him at the hospital when they received the information. Meanwhile, his family in India approached Nelliyan and Mathi, a social worker, for assistance in repatriating him. The Indian embassy requested that Mathi be repatriated as soon as possible because she is currently in India.
Assisted by Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Shri. HH Sibi George, the Indian embassy officials took the initiative to send HH back to India so that he could rejoin his family. As recommended by the doctors, Indian Embassy arranged stretchers and escorts for the patient's travel. I find it remarkable that the Indian Embassy-Kuwait covers all the expenses for both people, including stretchers, ambulances, flights, etc. Having received the necessary medical escort facilities, he has been repatriated back to Chennai on 19th June 2022.
