Delay In Issuing Civil Ids

After a flurry of activity for a short period at the Public Authority for Civil Information, work has once again picked up the slow pace, reports Al-Jarida daily. The daily said the issuance of Civil IDs was disrupted due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic due to disruption of shift work and consequent shortage of employees as a result of which applications for the issue of Civil IDs piled up but as the country has slowly and steadily resumed normal work the PACI has again ‘gone into the shell’ and delay has once again showed its ugly face. Sources told the daily many transactions are waiting to be processed — those that were submitted during March 2021 — and the delay is also attributed to the non availability of chips.
