Apple's Upcoming Surprise: Iphone 15 Pro Unit Leak Unveils Intriguing Design Shifts

As the anticipated launch of the iPhone 15 draws nearer, leaks and rumors are becoming increasingly detailed. Recently, a dummy unit of the iPhone 15 Pro appeared on the Chinese version of TikTok, offering some insights into what we can expect from Apple's latest offering.

Based on this latest leak, the iPhone 15 Pro is set to undergo several design changes, such as button placement alterations and more. Some of these modifications may be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) models, while others could be implemented across the entire iPhone 15 lineup.

 

 

What to Expect from the iPhone 15?

One significant change expected in the iPhone 15 series is the replacement of the Lightning port with a USB-C port. The Pro models are also likely to feature a titanium chassis and solid-state buttons, which will look different from those on the current iPhone 14 Pro, as seen in the video on Douyin, the Chinese counterpart of TikTok.

Rumors suggest that the ring/silent switch might be replaced by an Action button, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra. However, it remains to be seen how users will react to the potential loss of the switch, given the mixed responses other smartphone manufacturers have received for similar changes.

 

 

The dummy model showcases several small details, likely originating from leaked CADs obtained by iPhone case makers. One unanswered question is whether the iPhone 15 Pro will include a physical SIM card slot, considering that it was removed from all US models last year.

All iPhone 15 models are expected to feature last year's Pro-only Dynamic Island, along with thinner bezels, increased RAM, and an A17 Bionic chip for the iPhone 15 Pro model.

Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone 15 lineup in September, with a sneak peek at the upcoming iOS 17 at the WWDC23 event in June.
