€˜educational Districts Prep For Mandatory Transfer Of Teachers’
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17: Educational districts are now preparing for the mandatory transfer of teachers from elementary schools to intermediate and high schools in the new academic year, reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed around 500 teachers are covered by the decision, clarifying that this step was taken due to changes in the elementary program and removal of some subjects in the first three stages like IT and Social Studies.
Sources said that keeping this number of teachers in the same level despite the changes will only lead to ‘disguised’ unemployment while their transfer to other levels will be beneficial in terms of covering the shortage of teaching staff in those levels. On the other hand, the Ministry of Education has asked its finance counterpart to allocate an additional budget of KD 45 million for the payment of the outstanding job performance incentive to the administrative and teaching staff for academic year 2014/2015.
