Waiter Arrested
An Asian expatriate serving as a waiter in Jleeb Shuyoukh police station was arrested for tipping off suspected criminals ahead of security raids to facilitate their escape in exchange for money. He was in possession of gold worth about KD 7,000 in addition to KD 2,000 cash believed to be proceeds from his illicit operation.
A security source said the suspect aroused suspicion of the chief of Jleeb Shuyoukh police station after several failed operations, noting security operatives on several occasions found places empty after making necessary arrangements to raid vice dens.
He explained that suspects usually managed to escape from their hideouts before the arrival of the police. Upon careful thought, head of the police station realized an insider was giving information to suspects in exchange for money to help them escape before their planned security operations. He decided to confront the Asian waiter and he confessed the crime. Security operatives conducted a search inside his room and recovered gold and cash, which he admitted earning through his illicit activities. He was referred to concerned authorities.
