Unified Gulf Tourist Visa Approved Unanimously By Gcc States
Unified Gulf Tourist Visa has been unanimously approved by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. At the 40th meeting of the GCC Interior Ministers in Muscat, Oman, Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, announced the decision.
The newly approved Unified Gulf Tourist Visa was hailed by Al Budaiwi as a great achievement and a testament to the GCC nations' close collaboration and wise leadership.
In the same meeting, Gulf interior ministers introduced an electronic system for tracking traffic violations across the GCC. Al Budaiwi emphasized the significance of this project, stating that it is one of the initiatives aimed at advancing traffic safety goals. Additionally, he noted that the newly established system will offer a wide range of unified traffic services to GCC citizens.
GCC nations have achieved remarkable progress and prosperity in a variety of areas, garnering regional and global recognition for their development efforts, particularly in improving the well-being of Gulf citizens, Al Budaiwi stated. He stressed the need to maintain a high level of national security to ensure the continued progress of the region and to deter any threats that might hinder it.
A growing concern regarding drug proliferation in the GCC countries was also addressed by the Secretary-General, emphasizing the need for collective action, especially among youth in the region. He called for a unified strategy that encompasses prevention, control, and treatment of drug-related problems.
Al Budaiwi commended the national campaigns and the dedicated efforts of security personnel in confronting the challenges posed by drug abuse, acknowledging their vital role in safeguarding the GCC countries from the threat of drug abuse, particularly among the youth and in society.
As part of the meeting, various crucial security issues were discussed, including the possibility of developing a comprehensive Gulf strategy to combat drugs and launching security awareness campaigns.
