Tourism Offices Appeal To Ease Travel Restrictions
The Federation of Tourism and Travel Offices called on the relevant authorities to ease restrictions and health procedures on Kuwait International Airport. The federation said that Kuwait has imposed one of the most difficult travel guidelines in the world. Tourism offices further pointed out that many other countries have already opened their airspace especially for vaccinated travelers, Al Jarida daily reported.
The union said, in a statement that the limited airport’s capacity, 3,500 passengers per day, has resulted in a very high cost of the tickets. Adding that the continuation of seat capacity restrictions makes decisions to open new destinations useless.
He pointed out that, in parallel with the strict Kuwaiti decisions, the countries of the world began to open their airports and resorts to international tourism, and set only one condition, which is allowing fully vaccinated people to travel.
He believed that these measures would limit the return of workers to the country from the beginning of August.
The union considered that the solution lies in 5 things:
Addressing the limited numbers of arriving passengers.
Reconsidering the PCR test requirement, similar to the countries that canceled the examinations of those fully vaccinated.
Canceling the registration requirement in the Kuwait Passenger Program.
Finding an immediate solution to canceling daily flights by airlines and reducing ticket prices by increasing the airport’s operational capacity.
These demands coincide with the expected increase in the number of travelers during the next few days, as the Ministry of Education asked its internal counterpart to issue entry visas for non-Kuwaiti students stranded abroad whose residencies have expired. So that they can take their exams. This also coincides with the approval of the Ministerial Committee for Corona Emergencies to allow the return of farmworkers to the country, whose numbers are estimated at tens of thousands.
Opening family visas for doctors
Well-informed health sources revealed to the daily that as of August, family visa cards for doctors will be opened; to bring their wives and families.
The sources confirmed that the Ministry of Health is heading to addressing the Ministry of Interior”, to open these visit cards for doctors and various medical staff.
