Remove Cabins, Warns Official - Cafes, Restaurants Raided
Deputy Director General of Municipality Sector in Farwaniya and Jahra Governorates Eng Fahad Al-Shutaili called upon owners of cafes and restaurants to immediately remove all types of cabins and enclosed quarters which are in violation of the relevant rules and regulations. In a press statement, he stressed the need to ensure all rules and regulations concerning commercial outlets such as restaurants are thoroughly followed.
Eng Al-Shutaili affirmed that the control and inspection department will continue to monitor violations and issue citations against any in this regard across the two governorates, as well as deal with the misuse of commercial licenses. He indicated that many complaints have been received in this regard, especially in Ardiya Industrial Area, through social media. Elaborating about the cabins and materials to use, Eng Al-Shutaili explained that the material used to construct the cabins should be lightweight material with suitable contractual structure.
;Its length should not exceed two meters under any circumstances. Its door should not exceed one meter upwards, and should not be below 50 cm from the fl oor. He revealed that the emergency response team issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the restaurants and cafes to remove illegal cabins and enclosed quarters, adding that such violations could lead to administrative closure of the premises and further legal measures.
Eng Al-Shutaili affirmed that the concerned sector will decisively enforce the law in order to curb transgressions that have started raising suspicions of violating the traditions of the Kuwaiti society. Meanwhile, the Department of Public Hygiene and Road Works in Farwaniya Governorate carried out several clean-up campaigns during which 5,519 cubic meters of waste materials and debris, and 18 neglected vehicles were lifted.
