Raising The Salary Cap For Family/dependent Visas To Kd 800
A decision will be issued by the Ministry of Interior raising the salary ceiling for family/dependent visas (Article 22) to KD 800. Currently the salary ceiling is KD 500. This decision will apply to all expats who hold Visa Article 17 and 18 (Private and Government).
A work permit or any proof of a salary of KD 800 is required for expats to obtain a dependent/family visa. Additional income earned documents or proof will not be entertained.
MOI has implemented a new rule that seeks to control the demographic structure in Kuwait, permitting only families with high incomes to provide a satisfactory standard of living for their families, so that their wives won't have to look for jobs on the local market because it is overcrowded, reports Al Anba. This decision will cover all those who have entered Kuwait recently on Article 22 for wives and children under 16 yrs of age. Â
