Post Office Services Will Start From June 21
Director of the Postal Administration Sediqah Khajah announced that the sector is preparing and sorting postal packages and parcels in a manner that will facilitate delivery without having direct contact with the public.
Khajah indicated the Center for Sorting and Parcel Consignments (the airport) is sterilized to ensure the safety of workers, while a timetable has been set up to clean and sterilize all post offices before starting the first stage, which will begin next Sunday, June 21, 2020 when all offices are opened and work begins with 30 percent of employees in all post offices, with exemptions approved by Civil Service Commission for the first stage such as pregnant women, and those suffering from chronic and immunodeficiency diseases within a plan of action to be followed by senior officials of the ministry, while adhering to all preventive conditions approved by the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Health to avoid any infection that may affect workers.
Periodic reports will be submitted to show the extent of compliance with the requirements of health authorities and ministerial circulars issued in this regard, and legal action will be taken against whoever violates it. She stressed that official ministry accounts will be announced on social media sites for the morning and evening shifts to be followed by the second stage with employee capacity of 60 percent in the last stage when the sector will operate at full capacity according to the stages of returning life as stipulated by the Council of Ministers.
Khajah explained that during the processing phase, gloves, sterilizers and thermometers were received from the competent authority for distribution to the departments affiliated to the sector and post offices. She stated that relevant authorities were addressed to sterilize and clean up the post offices, in addition to adopting and implementing the air-conditioning maintenance schedule in all postal offices across the governorates in cooperation with the Energy Services Department.
This is to provide a suitable work environment, especially with the high temperatures experienced in summer season, in addition to the maintenance of electric lamps and lighting systems in the offices after nearly three months of closure, having passed a specific work schedule with dates for visiting the offices.
