Paci Developing E-services
The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) is continuously developing its electronic services, through which a person can complete his/her transaction without coming to the authority’s headquarters, reports Al-Rai daily.
An official source told the daily that PACI receives 2,000 documents on an average every day from citizens and expatriates at its headquarters in South Surrah, unlike its branches in the government mall and service centers and its branch in Jahra, indicating that a special branch will be opened this year to serve the residents of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Al-Ahmadi governorates, which will provide all services, without the need of visiting the PACI headquarters in South Surrah.
The source stated that the development of electronic services has succeeded in reducing congestion because a person can enter the PACI website and feed his/her data and pay the fees, without the need to personally visit the PACI headquarters. Speaking of issuing the IDs, the official said the ID is completed within five working days and that there is no delay in issuing IDs if the data is complete.
The source called on foreigners not to book travel tickets before receiving their civil cards, since many people apply for renewal just one day before the travel date and this causes a lot of problems saying the authority is committed to an accurate automated system to issue the cards on time.
The source also stressed if the residence permit is received from the Ministry of Interior, the data must be verified before entering it at the authority’s website and payment of fees, because the mistake will be borne by the owner of the card, indicating that the amendment is made by the Ministry of Interior which is responsible for entering the data.
