Nine Companies Compete For Third Package Of T2 Airport
The Central Agency for Public Tenders (PART) has referred bids for Package No. 3 for the construction, completion and maintenance of aircraft hangars, runways and service buildings for the new passenger building at Kuwait International Airport ‘T2’ to the Ministry of Public Works, to study, decide and necessary recommendations on the bids submitted by 9 companies.
Al-Jarida quoting Public Works sources indicated the bids will be studied from the technical point of view and construction specifications and necessary recommendations will be made within 30 days.
The sources explained the third package project is located between the eastern and western runways, extending from Building 2 on an estimated area of 3.210 million square meters, and consists of aircraft runways, hangars and passageways linked to the current runways, air service roads, service tunnels associated with Building 2, a power station, catering services and support services building and passenger bridges.
The sources pointed out the project aims to increase the capacity of the Kuwait International Airport, to 25 million passengers annually, and make it the latest regional hub in the region, using the latest technology in the field of aviation and the highest environmental standards, to achieve high levels of comfort and distinguished services for travelers.
