New Projects To Reform Education
The Ministry of Education is currently executing a series of novel education reform projects. Among these initiatives, three novel endeavors have been incorporated into the Ministry’s developmental blueprint for the fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.
Among them are the reorganization of the Ministry of Education's organizational structure, the formulation of a long-term strategy for the period 2025-2035, and the establishment of the Nawaf Al-Ahmad Academy.
Al-Qabas daily informed its readers that the department within the Ministry of Education that oversees the state's development agenda has officially informed the Supreme Council for Planning and Development of the introduction of these three new projects. This expansion supplements the five existing projects encompassed by the integrated education reform scheme, as well as the Ministry of Education’s digital transformation endeavor.
Four key projects make up the integrated education reform system. Foremost is the curriculum enhancement initiative, followed by the development of educational facilities across various forms of education. The program also includes the enhancement of school administration to foster professional growth within the educational workforce.
Furthermore, a project aims to diversify secondary education pathways to align with global benchmarks.
The Ministry of Education has convened multiple meetings with representatives from the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development to deliberate on the proposed three new projects and the rationale behind their inclusion. The Ministry has formally requested planning approval to integrate these projects into the forthcoming academic year’s development plan.
The Kuwait Municipality has rejected certain foreign schools' applications to annex neighboring structures as part of an expansion plan. This measure has been taken to prevent overcrowding within residential areas, both traditional and privately-owned.
Kuwait Municipality has rejected permission to establish private schools in conventional and privately-owned residential zones, following a resolution adopted by the Municipal Council.
